    Hello from Atlanta, GA

Hello, my name is Kat, and I am new here. I have been collecting machines for years, but always took them in for servicing. I am now starting to do my own servicing which lead me here. I have 12 vintage machines, 2 Industrial machines, and 1 Chinese patcher. (Think singer 29K, but rattier ) I started restoring a few but had to put on the brakes because I was clearly mucking things up, so I decided to come here and learn a thing or two from you great people. This last week I have been doing nothing but reading the boards, and it has helped me tremendously.

    Thanks for having me.
    Kat

Welcome aboard! I spent a number of years refurbishing vintage machines for a charity and used them myself as well. Just this past fall a friend gave me a lovely modern machine -- have to admit I love the self threader!

This is a fun place full of nice people who take the time to answer questions and share their knowledge. Hope you enjoy your time here and with the machines.

Welcome from Texas! There are a lot of people here who know a lot about machines & how to fix/refurbish them. You will find a wealth of info here.

Hi and welcome from North Carolina! Do you quilt on those machines too? Or, do you enjoy collecting and working on them?

Welcome from a fellow collector in South Dakota. Both my adult kids live in the Atlanta metro area, so I've gotten quite a few machines from that location.

My name is Cathy - and I'm addicted to old sewing machines and their attachments.

Welcome from metro Atlanta. I have tinkered with a number of vintage machines and I learned most of what I know from this forum.

Welcome, I am not experienced in servicing my own machines but do basic maintenance in keeping clean. I have also been able to trouble shoot basic issues such as a thread getting caught in the interior and fishing it out.
