2 favorites- 118 Fabrics and More on Rte 118 on the way to Ricketts Glen (State Park) and Endless Mountain Quiltworks in Tunkhannock.

Only go to Joann's if necessary- too many other temptations there. The Wal-Mart in Tunkhannock still has fabric but I usually reserve my $ for the quilt shops.

There is a shop in Nescopeck, but I haven't ventured there yet. One day soon....

Have you been to the shop in Palmerton?

there is a new quilt shop just opened up Monday in Scranton. It is called "Beyond the Needle" and it is gorgeous. She (the owner) has another shop up here on the NY/Pa. border. She is located off Keyser Oak ave in the plaza with White's Sewing Center. So if you get a chance go see her. I was there on Monday and her Grand Opening is in January. Might be kind of a bad time for travel then but one never knows. she also has a web site beyondtheneedle.com Marge

Darn- I was in Taylor for a closing on Tuesday. I could have stopped then. Guess I need to look at the closing schedule a little differently now. :)

    Thanks!

I wil have to let my mother know about the new shop ....she is still in the area and a avid quilter. There are no local shops here....which is truly a sad thing.

Was that the place called the Quiltery in Palmerton? If so that closed and Carolyn bought her out. There is a new one in Lehighton on 443 but I haven't been there yet. Also Wal Mart in Lehighton still has fabric.

thanks quiltincharlotte. I had fun doing it. No pattern, just random half square triangles with fabric I collected. Turned out just the way I wanted it to.

Howdy from Texas - and from one 50 something to another. You will love it here - actually I have been so inspired by looking at the pictures but still continue to look instead of quilt. Enjoy and look forward to seeing some pictures of your work.
    Blessings,
