I am lucky enough to have my grandchildren near. My son in law was in the service and lived in Germany for 6 years. We went to see them once, and they didn't get home much. They moved to Michigan about 50 miles away. Never thought that they would ever live near us, when they were away for so many years. Our son in law retired from the Army three years ago. So, we have been able to have the last three Christmas with the grandchildren, and I have a wonderful husband.

I just notice how much time you can spend on this board. I was going to look for some new patterns for table runners. thought I would check in here first. I have been here for a hour and have a hard time trying to get away, I want to read all the messages I got. Where do you live in Michigan? I live in Bark River, 13 miles west of Escanaba.

Wow, you really live pretty close to my folks! We live in southern Wisconsin, about 25 miles NW of Milwaukee. We too are lucky to have our children and grandchildren not too far away from where we live. In winter we have a home in southern Alabama pretty close to the Gulf, we can actually see Florida across the bay. This year I finally found a store there that carries beautiful quilt fabric that isn't too far away, and the greatest thing about it is that they will honor Joann Fabrics coupons!

Hi, moved from St. Louis to TN. about 11 yrs. ago. Now live in a small town in the country, last house on the road, which ends at our driveway. Love it! Much different than living in a large city like St. Louis. Have two daughters, both teachers, one in St. Louis and one in TN., four grandchildren and one husband of 52 yrs. Been quilting for about 8 yrs, been sewing since I was 11 and also into machine embroidery. A day without sewing is a day without sunshine! Also part of the family includes a dog and a cat.
