I have used a pounce pad for stencils, I also like clovers chalk pencils, I use those alot, I aslo just got the new Sewline Trio pencil, haven't used it yet though

I have wanted to try the pounce technique, but have been concerned that I would end up wiping the markings off as I moved the quilt around and/or accidentally rested my hands/arms on it

Thank you for all your suggestions and your welcoming. I love quilting and the community that comes with it. :-) I will try the pounce method for my borders and get back to you. For the grid surrounding the applique, oh my goodness, lines, lines, lines...I will just bear through it this time as it is already sandwiched ... next time I will mark before sandwiching. Many thanks again from Florida!
