I would decide on each quilt as you go. You need to pick a fun pattern for you to do since you will be the one doing the work, you should be able to enjoy the journey.

Welcome! What a nice thing for everyone to have some of your Grandmom's fabric.. make a lap throw like the rail fence pattern or log cabin... go to Eleanor Burns web site to see some videos on quilts for beginners... they are fast and easy and they also show you how to tie and finish them off... Enjoy your journey !!

What a wonderful thing to do, as a tribute to your grandmother. I think I would get a little input, but make them all different, wall hangings or lap quilts so they can "cuddle" with grandma. Check out the Quilterscache for ideas, or even just find a fabric, then alternate squares of that fabric with 9 -patch or pinwheel blocks. Start small and work your way up. Before you know it you will be an expert/experienced quilter. You go girl.

WELCOME from central TX - What a WONDERFUL journey you are starting on & what treasures they will become.

I agree w/amma, that lap quilts would be great (& make your challenge a little less daunting.) They are always so nice to have to bundle up in to watch TV, or for little ones to drape over a couple of chairs & have a tent/cave, etc. (This is what some of my great & great-great grandkids do when they visit.)

Perhaps you could ask MIL's advice on colors she might think is best for particular people (it might REALLY make her feel great to be a bigger part of the project besides furnishing the fabric)

Be sure & post pics as you get them made.

    Have a blessed evening

How fortunate your MIL is to have you - I'm sure she knows you are a blessing to her.
