Over the years I have made a few quilts, mostly for grandchildren. I am not really very good but have learned a few things on the internet since I started this quilt. My first boarder. I measured it right and it came out great. I got my bating out a bit too late and it is all wrinkly even after a couple days laid out. I was reading the message board yesterday and they were talking about washing batting. This is Hancock's extra loft batting. My next question is. It looks and feels rather thin. I am thinking maybe I need 2 layers. It is a large baby quilt. This is for my Great Granddaughter
I have to get this done and get going on another one for another grandchild. That is going to be a Sun Bonnet Sue. I wanted something very American because my daughter-in-low is from Japan. She has made a beautiful quilt all by hand.
Quite a few years with no quilts and am of and running to get them done.
Thank you for any help.

Welcome from the Los Angeles area (by the way, born in Des Moines). Sometimes all I can do to flatten out batting is to press it. I use a press cloth on both sides. Yes - you can use two layers of batting. Keep us posted on your progress on the Sun Bonnet Sue. That is such a delightful pattern.
