Welcome! You are in for a fun ride. I wouldn't buy any more books as of yet. Just keep reading the posts, bookmark what you think is helpful, try out small projects, ask questions, take a class if you want, and share your triumphs.

Hi, Joe and welcome from Massachusetts!
My favorite reference book for quilting is Quilts, quilts, quilts! Though, I would check out the public library until you get your idiot book in the mail because that may have all the same info in it, just w/o the eye-candy. Also check out blogs and about.com/quilting . there are tons of resources on line for free; and of course ask questions, there will always be a quilter near by to offer assistance. Cheers, Cathy |
Hi Joe and welcome to the board from Oregon, I cant help you as I am new to quilting to, but there are wonderful people on the board that will help you out. Penny
