Welcome from Washington! (I'm 3 years younger than you, and have been doing this almost two years now!)

Hello GV and welcome to the board. I'm very happy to hear your appreciation at a 2nd chance of life. Quilting is definitely something to pour your heart into and get great rewards from it.

Congratulations on your baby, when are you due?

As for canning, I love making applesauce, tomato sauce and canning peaches. I have made jams also. I have a big pressure canner, so I can do more, just haven't yet. I am also interested in what other things you can. There's nothing like fresh tasting food in the middle of winter!

Again, welcome to the board, you'll find so much information and wonderful people here.

It is great to have young quilters on the board. You will get a lot of support and encouragement here.

Welcome from Southern California.

Hi and welcome from Minnesota. Last May I retired and also had a big garden and did lots of canning. What fun. The bad part it is only for my husband and I. I haven't canned for years, so it was fun do it again. I don't miss work, I love being home and being able to clean, quilt, can etc. on my time and not always being stressed out to get things done.
