How would you feel if physical disabilities prevented you from sewing?

What a fantastic invention! It would be very discouraging if I couldn't sew. It's my passion & stress reliever & I would have to figure out some way to solve the problem like Gerry Wurtak came up with. He's an angel in my book! I'm so glad that Judy Winship is still able to sew because of his invention.

I don't understand why she can't use a machine with the off on button. Seems much less complicated to use the button. I'm glad there are more handicap accessible ways for those that need them to be able to enjoy sewing.

Wow, what an invention! I would go bonkers if I couldn't sit at my machine and create. So happy for that woman!

I think its amazing that she is able to pursue her passion no matter what her disability. The fact that this modification for her machine allows her to do this is wonderful.

That's great she can keep sewing. I too didn't understand why she couldn't use a machine with the on off button. Most of the lower priced machines comes with that option now as well as speed control.

Please don't ask why she doesn't use the on/off button. I'm sure there must be a reason for her not taking the "easy road."

A year or so ago, there was a story about a young Amish girl who wanted to sew but couldn't use her legs for some reason. But she would not be able to use electricity either. I didn't find out what they did for her, but there are lots of people with different disabilities that we don't know about.

Maybe a hand crank machine is the way to go for this girl.

My sister in law has a bad case of MS. Her coordination and lack of strength would preclude using that on/off button.
