Connecting Threads is my "go too" for thread as well. It works well with my machine and I can buy several colors at one time.

My "go to" for quilting thread. They have a wonderful choice of colors at a very reasonable price. I wait for sales and take stock of what I'm running low on and buy several at one time.

Amazon sells some Connecting Threads thread and if you are a prime member shipping doesn't cost you anything.

I love connecting threads thread, but be aware it is a little linty. When I free motion quilt with it I have to clean my machine often.

I buy the Essential Pro 70wt on the cone from Connecting Threads. It is thin and strong. I use Superior thread because of the great variety. I don't understand matching thread to the fabric for piecing. I use either a dark or light thread, mostly I piece using red thread except when sewing white fabric.

Wher do you purchase Superior threads?

I prefer Gutermann thread. It is less expensive to buy it in the 3,000 yard cones. I also use COnnecting Thread occasionally because I bought some because of their low prices, but it is thicker and lintier than Gutermann's---but they do have good prices! Personal preference I guess.

    Default I agree

Joann's seems to be charging quilt shop prices (or even higher).

I use CT thread all the time for piecing and for the LA. Ì buy the large cones. They have a good selection of colors.

Hi Roseanne - don't know about others but I buy thread in every color and shade just to have it on hand. But that's the hoarder in me. A lot of people just buy what they need so I suppose it would be a guess about the right shade for your project. Like buying fabric online .... every monitor shows different.
