Default Flying Geese, new way

https://youtu.be/RXW-lrlZayw

Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabrics makes her flying geese differently. She makes the points 1/4” smaller than the rectangle. I’ve always had trouble with FG because I’d lose the points. Her method makes it easy to keep the points. If the rectangle is 3 1/4 x 5, you cut the points 3”. This way you never lose your points. I’m doing this on a table runner and it’s turning out beautifully! A first for me!!

Thanks so much! I have always loved Flying Geese, but thought all those triangles were challenging. I may try this.

Good! The "No Waste" method also does that! So handy!

Thank you so much "jcrow" for the flying geese tutorial. I just love her tutorials but have not seen this one and it looks like so much fun to do. Just got done watching it and I want to go get started.

joe's mom-I thought the same thing about the tutorial being about fussy cutting but just keep watching and Matt turns his fussy cut squares over to Donna and she explains how to do the flying geese. It looks really easy.

You need to watch for a while -

These are not "traditional" flying geese - but they make up into an attractive block.

I love the whole presentation and the quilt. Jordan Fabrics' tutorials are the best!

I just found out about those flying geese yesterday when someone posted this you tube from Donna Jordan. What a terrific new way to keep the points.
