FYI....I made one...the tape measure that I bought from the dollar store didn't seem to have a good snap to it.

Note to self...get heavier gauge next time.

I didn't notice if the tute said to, but I square off the bottom of the bag also. You have to get physical to turn it back right side out. When you put the tape in be sure it goes() not )( when the bag is right side out. I have also used 1" mini blind slats instead of the metal tape and like it fine but it doesn't have the SNAP of the metal tape. PM me if I missed anything. Oh yes, the tape can be cut with old scissors or shears and round off the sharp ends. And I make prarie points of lining fabric and sew them to the center of the outside as the casing is formed. You use these to open it.
Perhaps you could post some pictures of your snap bags with the boxed bottom. Thanks for sharing!

My husband broke the case for me so I just have the tape and don't have to worry about losing the end back in the case. I keep a ponytail elastic around it to keep it wound up. I just unwind what I need and then snap the elastic back on it. I've been doing this for over a year with no problems.

Last year for Christmas I made so many of these.. I used them for gifts. Every one loved them... I made them in three different sized.. One fit inside the other... the smallest one only 3 inches for a coin purse... Got many compliments on them...

Thanks for all the great ideas regarding snap bags! I also like the idea of using the mini blind slats.
