How old is that pattern? Sounds like the creator of the pattern never really wanted any one else to make it and just wanted all the glory.

I am so glad to see this question and also some answers. I just found a pattern yesterday on the internet--up to date pattern- and it calls for 1/16 of an inch. Now I an going looking through my husbands woodworking rulers.

Was doing a BOM at my LQS at one point where the cutting measurements stated 1/16" increments as well. Shop owner/instructor said the same as everyone else...guestimate between the 1/8" markings.

Quilters do you think the person who copied the designers writing needs to go to specsavers ? I'm sure just a few strands would not hold especially with open seams.

I wish this had been posted a couple of weeks ago (and that I had noticed it) I am making a quilt for DGD which involved cutting apart a couple of panels. Of course the panel blocks were not square, and I needed to put a super narrow sashing on them....long story short, guestimating between the eighth and quarter marks is not always accurate enough. I will be buying one of those rulers for next time.
