A while back, PaperPrincess posted some pictures of some batik quilts she had done (http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-103513-1.htm) that I thought were beautiful -- very elegant. Also, I'd been wanting to try the 10-minute block.

Putting these 2 things together, I came up with my 11-minute flower. Basically, the "pinwheel" from PaperPrincess with a center to make it look like a flower. What do you think? The flower petals are 5" squares, and the centers are 4".

(I don't think they really take me 11 minutes ... well, except when I get the petals oriented wrong and have to rip everything out and start over!)

9 I've done so far

Wonderful! May I borrow this idea? I've been playing with 10 min blocks also.

Absolutely!

The final seam is a little tricky because the middle block is small ... I wouldn't want to try anything less than 4".
