Where is all the love we have on this board?

Great video. The speakers on my computer are not working. Can anyone tell me why you have to have her tool?

You don't really "have to" have it - any ruler would work. The one she is using is long and is only 2 1/2" wide which is the width of binding she's cutting. I personally like to cut my bindings at 2 1/4" anyways.

More the question ... why do we need any of the tools/rulers/trinkets etc. that we buy? ...

Most times, it's nothing new that our ancestors didn't do, but did in a different and usually much more laborious fashion. So no, we do not NEED them!

Sometimes it makes the job easier. The convenience.
And oft times ... just a good marketing technique to make us believe "pixe dust" is going to come along and make our quilting not only easier, but MUCH better!
