To me this video was an eye opener. httP:www.missouri quilt co.com. Now go to the video section at the top of the page. How to make 200yds of binding from only 1/2 yd of 34" material. Whoopee!!!!!!!!! Only have a small stash and this lady is very good as a teacher. Enjoy!

she did a typo from her intro to the story. quite sure you can't get 200 YARDS from 1/2 yard of 34 inches of fabric. The math doesn't add up for me anyway.

I make my binding this way except I use a square instead of a rectangle. I love it!

Just to add, if you take the triangle that you cut off the one end and sew it back on the other end, so you have a "crooked" rectangle, there is NO waste. It really is cool!

Thank you so much for posting this! I have to put a binding on a quilt that should have been finished already. So I am using this video today! I have really learned alot from postings. Thanks again.

Thanks, darlin1942 for your post. Knew right away you really meant inches. I just wish my tired old eyes could get more from the video although MDQC states they may do it over...urging them to hurry!

I have seen that video, and saved it. I have always known there was a way to do that, but have never tried it. The next time I need bias binding, I will definitely use that method.

Isn't this the same way you make bias binding? That's the way I have made my bias bindings in the past.
