There's a craft fair in town and a parade but we may just stay home in the woods. Normally three cars at a junction here is considered a traffic jam so crowds taking over is great for the shopkeepers and summer visitors but holds no appeal to my DH. Last night there was such a huge bang I thought a someone's gas tank may have exploded but DH said it was just a firework somewhere across the lake - it sounded like I imagine a small bomb would. We may go to the town's firework display because that's on the bank on the lake and no fire risk.

I will be taking a day off from sewing!! I'm working on two costumes...one is the Red Queen and the other is (of course) Alice, from Alice in Wonderland. My customers are two ladies who go to Disney in Florida every October for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Or perhaps I'll finish up the shoulder bag from the stuffed Cheshire Cat I've just 'gutted' and replaced with a finished lining. All he needs now is the long shoulder strap.

I work six days a week too for the 40 pay check. Play to sew and take a break and maybe hit JoAnns. Both sons work so will be a quiet day here. WAIT the Fourth is tomorrow WHOPEE...best I get everything organized so I can start sewing early early early! Have a good day everyone!

I'm home alone on the 4th and not working, so hope to stay in the AC & finish a baby quilt. Ran out of material for the back, so must go to LQS today (hee, hee). I will try to limit myself to just the needed fabric, like I ever can!

Not totally sure what I will be doing, but what ever it is, it will be inside my nice A/C house.

I work from 5 am to noon that day, so later that afternoon we will head over to the sons house to make our yearly BBQ Ribs on the grill for supper, watch the parade and then the fireworks from his back yard. He lives right on the route of the parade and lives 1/4 mile from where they light off the fireworks. His back yard is huge enough to put a football field in. So when they switched the parade route from our house.. to his..our gathering spot switched also. This gathering is for just us local family and friends... our official one is at our cabin on Saturday..then we have min of 75 people... up to 125 .. as we have people that just stop in for small little 30 minute hello's.. lol

I am really looking forward to spending the day in my quilting room; it's nice to have a day off in the middle of the week! Happy 4th of July everyone!

Sewing day for me. It is very hot here in Texas and I have to make my Saturday Sampler Block for this Saturday. Then last Saturday I took a class and made the cutest truck. Wish I knew how to post pictures, it was so much fun to do. I still need to make the background for it and do the quilting part. I am anxious to get it finished and show it off. Everyone have a good 4th and be safe and mindful of the heat and crowds.

I'm making cushions for a friends patio set that I had promised her for Christmas. But it took her a long time to choose the. Fabric and then I was getting quilt ready for our local show and then vacation. I hope to get them done by the weekend!
