I learned this method years ago after my twin sons were born. Being a new mother, I found that I just didn't have time to sew for more than a few minutes at a time. So, I started doing just one thing--maybe just one seam in a skirt or pants, etc., but at least I felt like I was accomplishing something. I was amazed that I could actually finish something doing it like that, but ever since I have organized my projects and always have something I can work at even if it's only 15 minutes. After many years of sewing clothing, curtains, etc., I started quilting eight years ago. I absolutely love it, and now since I have lots more free time--I'm retired now--I often sew for long periods of time.

I need to come up with a graph or chart or something, with room for notes on what I worked on. Or maybe just a calendar with big squares. Seeing reminders of my progress would be helpful. I could look at it and see what I accomplished even if I feel like the finish is far off.
The good news is, I more than met my 15 minutes today! Blah, tomorrow I have to go to work. It's not so much going to work that annoys me, it's the 8 hours before I can leave again!

I'm in too! Love this idea. So many days I walk by & just get sad because I'm too tired or sore. But really, it's 15 mins. I can DO this. I spent several 15 mins this afternoon working on my first applique project. Got about 5 more blocks to finish & then on to the next step. It was very peaceful & relaxing :)

I just got a package ready to ship to Operation Stork. I didn't do but 2 of the blankies, but the package had 6 packages of Q-Tips, 15 double flannel receiving blankets, and 5 fleece blankies. That means that I have a bit more space cleared off of the chair (not my sewing chair) now to go make my kitty a bit happier. <wave>

Have any of you happened across the phenomenon of having the 15 minutes clear, but not sure what to do?
When you chart your actual, you begin to see a pattern, and next thing you know - - you will be charting a course to follow for days to come (I guess - - the squares must be pretty big)
Or ... I have a printmaster program that sets me up a calendar by one week to the page. With two colors of ink, you can plot progress and plan forward <wave>
