? About fabric strings
#12
I am assisting my four daughters in making their first quilts, and I was shocked at how much fraying/raveling/strings I saw on the back of their quilt tops. I told them to start clipping better, but there is only so much you can do.
As I am so fond of saying.... "It is what it is." Get as much clipped as you can and then sandwich the rest and you'll be good to go.

Thanks all for taking the time to answer me.
Like I said these are not sewing threads, I use leaders nd Enders and never have to deal with that.
I've never noticed much fraying before, ( not that i have done this for a long time, lol) but this is a big Bargello, and has so many seams, and every time I move it, loose strings are falling off of it, lol, I can't tell you how messy my sewing room looks, with all of these little snippets of strings, lol. I guess I am just going to give a good shake and roll some tape over it before I am ready to quilt and call it a day.
I guess I was concerned because I have never seen as much fraying, but also never had as many seams, so I think all is good here, I'll just bury my mess inside my quilt, lol, luckily I am not using any real dark or super light fabrics so nothing is showing from the front

Some fabrics fray more than others. I would not use FrayCheck though. That would be fairly expensive and time consuming. The fraying will stop when you make the sandwich and quilt it. I have had some quilts that do it a lot and some that hardly fray at all. I think it depends on the shape of the blocks.

It may be you just picked a batch of particularly "stringy" fabrics to use for this quilt. I have noticed that some fabrics fray much worse with normal handling than others, and maybe with the bargello you're handling them more, too.
