I got that!
Now what?
Now what?
A 'filter rules' box should pop up, and down a little it should say 'filter subscriptions'. Which does it say you have or does it say nothing?

Could it be something simple? When I got mine I had to exit out of the internet then restart it for it to kick in.

You are very, very welcome!!
So glad it's working for you now :)
Yes, they will stay gone, and if you get one, just right click on it and tell it to add it to the block list of adblock.
No one is ever too old to learn as long as they're willing!

Ok, I’m going to play devil’s advocate for a minute here. You probably don’t know it, but ad blockers truly hurt the websites you like so much. Some feel if they never click on the ads, then blocking them makes no difference to the site financially. Not true. The website receives revenue based on a per view basis, not a per click basis.
If you show up with an ad blocker and load ten pages of QB or any other website, you are consuming resources from them and providing no revenue. It’s like going to a restaurant and eating for free. How long do you think the restaurant will stay in business operating like that?
The ads on this site are minimal once you are a registered member. They have always been there and there has been almost no mention of them before the change of ownership. True, there are some changes happening and it’s hard to tell at this point whether they are glitches or actual intended changes, but think about the future of your own actions in all this and give the new guys time to work out the bugs. I, for one, would much rather have a couple ads hanging around than have to pay a subscription fee to read the content of the board.

See if this helps you out:

Did it ask you to restart your computer to enable it? If you didn't I'd try that to see if it worked. Otherwise try going back to the site and redoing the process or see if there is a question/answer area to help you through the process.

But sometimes there are legitimate reasons to have such things - my son suffers from epilepsy and when it comes to those blinking ads, well, lets just say we learned to get the blocker REAL fast!

I agree with you but there are many of those ads that you could click on which could/has cause/d a virus or other potential problems. I realize that I have enough antivirus/spyware, malware programs to get most of them but sometimes they do get worms embedded somewhere and they are the dickens to clean out of your computer. I never clicked on any of the ads anyway. But I didn't realize that revenue was based on per view rather than per click. Another problem I had were those perpetually blinking or running around ads for lack of a better word...it hurt/strained my eyes something awful because people with a stigmatism/s are really bothered by these even with corrective lenses.
I would never want to cheat anyone out of anything that was their source of revenue. So I will say in my case I'd be more than happy to pay a subscription fee to offset what I might be causing the board to lose.
