Am I doing something wrong?

I'm new to this board and know that I enjoy reading the comments after I have posted. But, if you click on "My Topics" after you log in, you can see how many times your posting has been viewed. I guess that not everyone is going to comment, but it's great to see how many have acutally looked at the posting. I have found, in the short time I've been here, that this is a great group of ladies and their knowledge is priceless! I'm glad you're a member ... keep on posting!

I am sorry you are feeling hurt. I don't think the number of responses has much to do with how good one's quilt is or not. I often go through the pictures (like now) before bed and enjoy all of them. I rarely post a comment. However, from now on maybe I will at least give a thumbs up to let people know I care. :-)

If I see quite a number of posts saying the same things I would say, I don't bother to post. Doesn't mean I don't have an opinion, I just don't want to repeat what's already been said, especially if I need to be doing something else and time keeps flying by as I spend time on the board.

I am on this site every night, mostly I come to see everyone's work. It gives me inspiration to do more quilts and try new techniques.
To be honest I rarely comment on them. When I do it is usually on the ones that have received the least amount of responses. I would like to comment on everyone's but I don't have the time.
Please don't stop posting everyone is reading and seeing your work, don't take silence as a bad thing. This is a great forum and would not exist if we stopped posting.

I am like many others. I look but don't comment to much. I love seeing all the quilts and everybody's ideas. As of this date, I have not made a post to show anything I've done. Think many people are that way. Time is an issue with me for sure. Please know that most people really do enjoy everything they see - but most don't post.

But when I post a picture of my latest completed project, I have found that I get a very minimal response from the rest of the board. Most pictures get over 100 responses, many get much more than that, while mine have been averaging under 20. This has happened so many times that I am forced to wonder if there is some unwritten rule I am breaking that I don't know about. I wouldn't ask, except that it happens every time. It's starting to bug me a bit, even hurt my feelings a little.
I love this board, but I'm not really feeling the love in return. Please be honest, is it me?

Click on the poster's screenname to the left of their post. There will be a "topics posted" list there that you can click on.

I agree with all the points everyone in this 10 page (presently) post has made.
I have felt like some of my posts were ignored or sidestepped. I have felt like I get more responses to my posts when my profile photo is my hummingbirds than I do when it is a photo of me. I have felt like my responses in posts shut the posts down. The discussion will be zinging away like mad, I make my response and no one comes behind me in the post and makes another comment. This has happened repeatedly.
I used to make a great effort to welcome the new members and compliment the quilts I love. I have almost stopped posting because of the many posts I have read that give a negative view of 'one word responses', 'redundant responses', 'can't help you but wanted to let you know I care that you live and breathe' responses,. You get my drift. I have been an active member since joining and each time I read one of those posts giving a negative view of these things it sets me back for awhile. I want to say a quilt is 'awesome, beautiful, adorable, etc.' but my fingers won't do the walking.
I apologize that you and many others are not complimented on your work or given help when asked.
