I have made numerous quilts for my basset, Otis and chocolate lab, Moosie. My sister-in-law thought I was wierd because I made a special trip to a quilt shop to buy fabric for a flannel quilt for Otis. Otis has about four quilts around the house - two on his night bed and a couple more on his bed in my sewing room. He has both summer and winter (flannel) quilts. I think he appreciates my quilts more than anyone!

Every a.m. she spreads the quilt out over the dog's bed and every nite the dog remakes the bed. She digs the quilt up into a pile and when the pile is to her liking she lies down with her head on the pile of quilt. Now if THAT isn't appreciation, I don't know what is! LOL
P.S My dogs don't have quilts. They use mine which is on my bed!
As a matter of fact I'm making one now for my 'Lily' shes my avatar. 8-)

Hi Karen, I can almost see you waving from central IN. We spent most of our time in southwestern OH.

I wish I could make a teeny tiny quilt for our budgie but so far I haven't
found the appropriate pattern. Don't think the gold fish would appreciate
    one in his bowl.

I didn't make it, but my dog had a baby quilt. I called it a blanket. I could put the blanket anywhere in the house and tell him "Go get on your blanket". He would find the blanket and lay down on it.
