Yeah, they did. I've got threaders on 3 Janome machines; one is way older than 1992. I also have a VERY basic, but excellent Pfaff; there's no threader on it; it's not the age of the Pfaff, but the fact that it has absolutely no bells/whistles.

I have 2 Pfaffs and both work beautifully - took a bit of getting used to (I'm a slow learner as well) and now if it doesn't work first time its almost always cos I haven't got the the needle right up. I'm so glad they do work as I can't see well enough to do it the old fashioed way

The Janome dealer doesn't advise Schmetz needles either the hole isn't aligned right, (for the little wire to go through the hole) they told me to use either organ or janome (which is made by organ). Lol Liz

I have one on my Bernina 440 and at first had a really hard time with it but over time have pretty well mastered it. It is helpful for me since I have cataracts (sp) but sometimes it or myself is not working in sinc and have to try it a couple of times. I found I had to really push down on the lever for the needle to get in the correct position and that helps.

I always use my threader. I have a Janome and I use the Schmetz needle also. I always push the needle up/down to make sure the needle is in the right spot before I try to thread the needle. It works everytime.

Use both-the one on the babylock works better than the one on the brother qc1000. Also use topstitch needle rather than regular-maybe that's why.

My Janome works wonderfully 98% of the time, especially after I had it in for a simple checkup. I think the tech adjusted it. Maybe that is what it needs.
