I have no problem with mine. I have a Janome 6600. Works great.

I have a Janome and I do use the threader although I have had to have it adjusted when my machine has been cleaned, because if it isn't exactly straight it won't work.

Pam, I found the key to the manuel threader on Pfaff and Bernina 180 is to have the needle in the CENTER position, and at the highest point....it also seems I have to have the presser foot down...anyway, that appears to work. Love the ones that you push the button and they thread themselves...lol getting older and makes it easier. I remember when my grandmother used to ask me to thread a bunch of needles for her embroidery....it was so easy then.

I love mine!! I just hit the needle button, and make sure the needle is positioned up, and it works everytime! Finally figured that out! LOL

Gosh I love it. I wouldn't buy a machine now without it. I find that one person didn't have the needle all the way up so the pusher thing couldn't push the thread thru. Sure I can still thread it by hand but this is so much faster and simpler for me.

I have a Phaff and love my needle threader. My eyes are really bad so it is a time saver for me.

I have one on my Bernina Artista 200. Once I finally learned how to use it, it quit working!!! My dealer owner adjusted it and it works perfectly. He said sometimes they just get tweaked a bit and it causes it not to work. He is the greatest and he fixed it for nothing in the middle of a class I was taking.

I am sure transporting my machine back and forth to classes, etc. give ample opportunity for it to fall out of adjustment.

Since age is beginning to affect some of my vision, I do appreciate the help of the machine. To press a button and have it done would be VERY nice!

LOVE my needle threader! It did take me a while to figure it out though. Now I feel better I wasn't the only one having difficulty. I like the idea of getting a magnifying glass to see how it works. I don't even look at it now when I thread a needle. Once you figure it out you're going to kick yourself! LOL!

I am using a special LED flexable(18 inch arm) light purchased from IKEA that sits on my sewing table right beside the machine but I can move it for thread picking (horrors) or to direct light anywhere. It is shown online in the living room section, but is purchased only in a store.
