I felt so hurt when she told me not to make her a quilt for Christmas so I didnt. This is the best Christmas gift anyone has ever given me.

This reminds me of my daughter and granddaughter learning to sew/quilt. They had friends in 4H and wanted to be a part of the group. I helped my daughter's 4H and then years later, my granddaughter's. Mom being one of the helpers wasn't always so good.... sometimes that mother/daughter thing would be ugly. But, years later, she's told me how co-workers would ask her to help them sew something and she's glad she has the skills she learned. She was the first in the county to win best at sewing and modeling the same year. My granddaughter won a blue ribbon on the quilt she made and still shows it off. I'm hoping I'll still be around to help teach my new great-granddaughter..... I'm smiling as I write this... the memories are so great!!
