I gave my daughter a hand quilted 1 inch pieced quilt from the 20's.. she used it for her dog in his day time cage/crate.. dog ate a HUGE hole in it ! It was torn along with the hole.. no recovery.

My heart broke that day. the start of a few other mistakes ..

:-(

That quilt is beautiful. I'm glad you saved it. It cleaned up very nicely also.

Thank you everyone for their kind thoughts, and I plan on cherishing this quilt more than my own work of craft. I lost my grandmother's hand made work due to my carelessness and I would like to think this will replace it. This was just too gorgeous to settle for it to be misused. As a semi-crafter I know the love that can go into a work of art and almost quessingg at the age of this piece, my heart just couldn't let it continue to be mis used.
