Another ladie posted this R/W/B runner she made this weekend with pinwheels - could work for these items too.

they are actually rectangles, it's just the perspective that makes them look like fan shapes.

I like the idea of using the rectangles in strips for the border also. Wow, so many great ideas, and I just sat there staring at them with a blank mind. Now I see all kinds of possibilities. Thank you so much all.

It is much easier to think of/give suggestions, when it isn't your fabric sitting there staring at you :D:D:D

Pinwheel blocks alternating with rail fence blocks, or a variation of that.

this is a nice simple but interesting block and the triangles have already been cut for you. how great is that.

following the basic instructions, make it up to the size of your pieces. draw your pieces the current size on paper. using those as templates, arrange them accordingly. cut whatever additional ones you need. maybe the white ones. those become the pattern pieces. your block will be it's own size, depending on the size of the pieces you have that are already cut out.

wow! that was a mouthful of garble. just follow the picture. you'll have to cut the white ones out the same size as the triangles you have and some for rectangles. you can also use the rectangles you already have in other blocks to mix'n'match. follow the picture. the block will be the size it wants to be. as long as they're all the same size it doesn't matter.

I have a large piece of the flag print suitable for backing, and enough of the red and blue to cut more peices.
Do these peices suggest a certain pattern to anyone? Any suggestions of what pattern I should consider to use these to best advantage?
Could it be that one piece that is used in the Kaleidescope pinwheel you just made? I think I used a rectangle instead of cutting of the end to a 45 degree.

Go to the Missouri Star Quilt Co. website. They have several tutorials on what to do with triangles. Those girls there are very clever!
