I am not familiar (yet) with Sue Spargo or the wool techniques. Thanks so much for showing your work, which is beautiful...I think this is something I would be very interested in learning. A bookmark for sure.

I love wool applique. I've done a few wallhangings and some pincushions. So, I'm interested!

I'm in I love working with wool. I'm currently marking a Partridge in a Pear Tree Wallhanging for next xmas.

Your blocks are beautiful, love the colors and details.

I used an old wool blazer of mine to make the branches

Wow gal288 - this is beautiful! And it looks really large! How long has it taken you?

Let me ask- would you be interested in an organized project or do you already have projects going that you would like to share and discuss techniques?

I would be happy to organize something if we all have access to materials etc. I wil post some links for patterns for some ideas for projects.
I don't have any current wool projects going. I looked at Sue's website link, and wow, is that some pretty stuff! I really like some of the totes, a couple of the wallhangings and one of the table rugs. I'm so far behind right now in my FWSQ that I hesitate to begin something new, but on the other hand, I just finished up my only handquilting project today and could use another hand project . . . .

Sue's pillows are fun - or she has some kits that are really cute and useful.

Roxannebcb, I enjoyed your pictures. I bought some wool at a LQS that was pricey to use in wool applique. I, also, buy 100% wool at thrift stores and wash in high temps. to use in wool applique. I have a book, also, that shows different quilts made from wool. The projects are on my 'to do' list. Thanks for sharing your work. Eiltcoq.

I bought Gretchen Gibbons book ('Pennies From Heaven') because I want to make a wool quilt. I am collecting wools now and expect it to take awhile to have enough.
Oh my gosh! How come I didn't know about this lady-Sue Spargo? I am such a Piecker!

Where do you get your wool to dye? I love the look. A couple of years ago I saw a wool quilt on the wall of an antique store and fell in love with it. When I went back, they were using it as a rug. The area (near Nashville) flooded last year, and I still think about that quilt. I'm sure it is gone. What a waste.
