trust me I checked and rechecked - I hate to rip out worse than anything. I should have done one to test rather than go with her directions and cut them all. Lesson learned. I tried to fix it best I could, still a bot os a wave but better. Hope it won't be a total waste of my precious fabric.

Hummmmm, no way 6.5 inches worked for me. I have a 1/4 inch foot and a laser on my machine - I have not had a problem so far with 1/4 in. seams. Guess you got lucky or you take a really big 1.4 inch seam and I take a very scant one. Who knows glad it worked for you.
I will be better at checking one before cutting all next time. I will definitely make another with this pattern, very cute - but I will be more careful and find what works.

From than on I would start with the first piece pin or baste on the first trunk than hold it up to the tree part of the runner to see if it is going to be centered with the base of the tree. If not adjust the seam allowance on the white piece to make it fit right. On some of my white pieces I had to sometimes cut an 1/8" or so off the edge. I would have to check each trunk as I went. Hope this helps.

Oh I'm so glad to hear someone else say the same thing I feel about Jenny's tutorials. I really like MSQ and appreciate their tutorials, I think Jenny is a hoot....
Baby Quilt, sail boat was a real pain in the patootie for me. I'm working on the 4 patches + X's and O's...I totally agree everyone's 1/4" is different, that aside I had to make some real adjustments to get seams to align/match. I'm pretty particular about my seams matching, personally it drives me crazy when intersections don't align, this quilt is definitely one that I feel they need to match. When you look at her quilts whether it's her or one of her employee's that piece the quilts often the intersections don't match very well (maybe it's okay for Jenny "not to die" over seams not matching :0) ...maybe that is what makes them fast and easy for them?
Don't get me wrong I really like MSQ, have been a follower and customer since the beginning, but Fast and Easy in my experience has not been the case. I will continue to watch the videos and probably be 'charmed' (pardon the pun) into making another quilt from the tutorials but I will definitely know from experience for me, to doubt fast, easy, darling, quick quilt comments :0)
