I am going to post pictures of a Surf Song Bargello pattern and a Serenity Bargello, just in case either might be what you are looking for. You need to visualize the Serenity in various colors, not just shades of purple.

Beautiful fabric. There is a pretty scrappy quilt pattern called Saddle Tramp. It is pictured on the last page of November/December 2015 McCall's Quilting Magazine. You can google it. It is a free download.

What if you did a color wheel? That would be a fun way to display all your beautiful new fabrics in all their colorful glory.

I might do a bargello mixed with a strata. I have an old Nancy Crow grey cloud ombre fabric that would be a cheater for the separation between the bright colors. It goes from super light to almost black.

Visit t Carol Doak's website & check the tutorials-- I paper piece A Lot, there are ways to paper piece without a lot of waste. Carol shows how. My ( trim aways ) are slivers. You might even find a free pattern there that strikes your fancy. The Jenny Beyer one would be fabulous though!

Berries and Blooms Quilt by Nancy Mahoney. Can't post a link right now, but easy enough to find if you go to Google images.

Sewnoma beat me to it! My first thought was some kind of color wheel. There are some neat ideas on Pinterest

It's funny. My first two ideas when I saw your lovely fabric colors were two that were already mentioned - the Trip around the World and Surf song Bargello. Nice husband you have!
