I have done a couple over the past year. One was a irish chain version and appliqued stars and hearts on it. Another was a ninepatch variation and I appliqued sailboats on it. And yet, while each one suited the recipient, I think my own favorite was Heart and Soul, which is a free pattern from Red Rooster fabrics.
