I would never put a name on a quilt until the baby is here. They have been wrong on the sex of babies before.
You can give the quilt after the baby is born. Be safe and use boy/girl colors.

I agree with most of you - I'd wait.

My daughter had a miscarriage several years ago and I know that she was fearful of another until she delivered.

Much safer to play the waiting game in this instance.

I would wait, and I would not applique the name on till after the baby is here....I have had many, many, friends and family that changed the name they picked after seeing the baby and realizing the baby didn't look like a Tara, etc.

Wait until the baby is here...I had two miscarriages between my 2 sons. They are 6 years apart and for years people would ask "WHY did you wait so long to have another? " I finally started answering " we didn't, we have two angels in heaven waiting to meet us someday." I always hoped that would make people think before asking hurtful questions.

i also would wait---i would also wait to put that name on the quilt- 2 reasons...with my 3rd child i was told- with 3 different tests...yup it's a boy!...so when she was born i will never forget my husband saying...ohhh there she is...OH! she's a GIRL!!!
and also...with my second child- through the whole pregnancy we had a name picked out...then when he was born & i gazed at him for the first time...he became someone totally different. come to think of it my first born too---we had told everyone her name would be Rebecca---then after having her- cards arrived to welcome Theresa Marie & I asked...who's Rebecca?...some things just need to be in place before personalization happens...you just never know.

I have three grown children, but I had 7 pregnancies. You know them best but I would wait.
