I have a queensize quilt I have been hand quilting for 5 years now. Its one that I work on when the weather in cold and I want that weight on my lap. I have 3 tops yet to be quilted. I have a Christmas quilt I need to put togeather... I have 3 lap size that I need to quilt and I have 4 quilts in the boxes that need to be finished pieceing and I am now making two quilt as you go quilts. I love these and think I will be making alot of them. lol . Once you get everything cut the quilt goes fast and when you are done , you are done!!!!

For years I sewed for the public. The first thing I learned was DO NOT KEEP AN OPEN CUP OF COFFEE by the machine. When I need a break, I take a coffee break away from the machine. Helps the back also.
I do my charity quilts in stages, four or five at a time. First I piece them all, sandwich them, machine quilt them all (stitch in the ditch mostly) then bind them all This method helps me turn them out faster. I also lesson to Books on Tape while I work. I find it very relaxing

Wow! I am a new comer and the topic was fascinating to see develop! We all share the same heart and it IS QUILTED!...I wish I were home right now to help some out with my longarm...do it or rent it out...but alas, we are in Vermont for the fall....just joking, but we are and I am enjoying the colors!...want to quilt them, of course! ENJOY the day! as as the Marines say! "capture it!"

So my worst problem is piling up quilt tops.Once it's done, I'm off to next one....& so it goes.
How do others handle that? What is your solution? Do you have a bad quilting habit?
