I made a king mariner's compass quilt with batiks and it came out so beautiful! Your quilt is too!

Oh yes, I love, love, love Batiks, too. I just finished a queen-sized top made of mostly batiks in the Montana Cartwheel pattern. I call it Wild Thing. I'll try to get a post up of it, but I just had to say how much I admire the beautiful batik quilts each of you has posted.
    More later!

I have seen batiks in the catalog -when you buy the fabric in difference colors are the designs in the dye the same? And what are bali fabrics. I must be missing something not using these fabrics. What would be a good pattern for my firsr batik>

Hi. My name is Quilting Nonnie and I'm a Batik Addict. (Hi Quilting Nonnie) LOL

Here's one I made for my son who likes batiks and blue. I loved it so much I made one for myself.

The pattern is Gumballs and you can buy it at Stitchin' Heaven.

I taught a class on this quilt. And now, as I think of it, I have one pattern that was left over. If you would like the pattern, just PM me. First one gets the pattern free, postage included. Offer ends January 29 @ 7 p.m. EST. (That's just so people don't keep PM-ing me! I'm sure it will be gone in a few minutes!)

No, it was a pattern by Deb Luttrell of Stitch' Heaven, a quilt shop in Quitman, TX. Isn't it great?
