Default Batting for heavy quilt

I just finished piecing a double wedding ring in queen size and it feels so heavy to me. Was wondering if there is a light weight batting I could use or should I just use my warm and natural I have now.
Also wondering how to quilt it. Has anyone got any suggestions for someone who is not really done too many quilts?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Quilters Dream Request is very lightweight. I've seen lots of ideas for quilting it on the web. Google it and go to images.

Warm and Natural would add a lot of weight. Wool, believe it or not, is lighter and gives nice loft. A polyester would also be light in weight. Even Hobbs 80/20 would be lighter in weight than W&N, although heavier than either wool or poly.

Charisma quilted a nice one here. Go to advanced search and put in double wedding ring and, it was the first one on the list.

I agree 100% with everything Prism said. Wool or poly would be your best bet. I'd avoid W&N and use Quilter's Dream.

I have a friend who made a lovely pineapple quilt, and she quilted it very densely. She jokes that it's her third child, because it took her 9 months to make and weighs 8 pounds!

I agree that W&N would be too heavy. I am currently working with Quilter's Dream Request and it is very lightweight. As far as How to quilt it, how about a picture so we can see it?

I made a queen size quilt (Star Wars) for my grandson, and it, too, felt heavy even before quilting. I used Soft n' Bright (polyester), 1/8" thick, by The Warm Company. (I think it is also available as 1/4"). Based on my experience, I believe this would be the perfect batting for your project. This batting is available at Joann's as a pre-cut 45"X60" package or 90" width on the roll. I usually just have them cut what I need.

Not sure that you want to go to the expense but I think silk batting might be your lightest choice if you want to stay with a natural fiber.
