You guys may want to think about planting some naturally pest repelling plants outside your house.

    Blue mound rue
    ============
Ruta graveolens v. blue mound-- Rue (evergreen perennial sub-shrub)

Historical Use: The Roman writer Pliny reported that rue improved the eyesight of artists, antidoted poisons, and repelled insects, scorpions, and serpents. During the Black Plague, it was hung or carried by people to ward off the disease. Rue symbolized repentance; in the early Catholic church, stems of rue were used for sprinkling holy water. The leaves served as an early model for the suit of clubs in cards.

Medicinal Use: Rue alleviates gas pain and colic, improves appetite and digestion, and promotes menstruation. Large doses are toxic.

    Other Uses: Household-- decorative; Fragrance.

Tobbaco family is an insectiside, they used to use it along with other stuff way back when. Nicotina is part of the Tobacco plant family and ornamental. Though, if you have small kids and the like be careful as you can get nicotine through your fingers.

Do not eat if your pregnant
But pennyroyal mint is a natural pest repellent.

Basically do some googling or go to Integrated pest management and some of these remedies may help.

I had heard something about bed bugs on the news but didn't pay too much attention. This is what I get for not watching news very often.
This site has a lot of answers to questions you may have. I'm itching all over now. : (

Not sure what size bed bugs are but Fox News said to look for tiny black droppings on the bed sheets. If you see this it probably is from bed bugs. Also heard 1 bed bug will bite 3 times all in a row.

a friend went on a CRUISE ship and got bitten to pieces in her bed. Told them the next day and they removed EVERYthing and brought in all replacement mattress, bedding, etc. No problem after that but she was worried about her own items that may have gotten 'visited' with bedbug vermin! Yikes.

Drying on high heat is supposed to kill bed bugs. Toss a damp towel in with newly purchased clothing or fabric so that the dryer will run for a while.

Just think what they could do to your stash.
You would probably have to either wash it all in hot lysol water, or just plain throw it all out.
That is why I no longer go to garage sales. You nevesr know where you could get them. Like someone said , it has nothing to do with being clean, if they latch onto you, you take them home and they multiply.
And they are so tiny that you can hardly see them.

OMG this is making me itch. My son and grandson are coming for a visit. Should I steam them before letting them in? LOL
