The Log Cabin pattern is a very simple one and allows many different layouts when you're finished with the blocks. You might want to investigate this pattern for your next quilt.

Absolutely log cabin! This will help you perfect your basic quilting skills and you can make it into a diamond, a star, slant it (sun light?) or just about anything. You can even make it with uneven "logs" and simply put the blocks together and forget the overall shaping and it still will look great and special. It is the overall all-time special!

How about Log Cabin in a Day by Eleanor Burns? Or Yellow Brick Road by Atkinson Designs? :)
