I just bought another Omnigrid 24" x 36" mat last weekend at JAF online at 50% off. Last one last me over 15 years. I bought an Olfa mat a couple of years ago and seems that cotton threads are getting stuck in the mat. I bought it ONLY because I couldn't find the Omnigrid mat in my local JAF store. Later, I learned they only sell them online.

So far I'm very happy with a Fiskars I bought at Joann's a few months ago. I like the little dots you can use to line your fabric up and the dark side/light side feature.

I have 3 different sizes of the Olfa mats, 24 x 36,18 x24 and two of the 12 x 18. I've had them for years and not had any problems with them. The 18 x24 Fiskars mat warped after about a year, never exposed to heat either.

I never use the lines on the mats as they aren't accurate with the Omnigrid rulers I use, there is about 1/8" difference.

I did have a fiskars one but it didn't seem to last as long and some of the other brands seem to dull the rotary blades prematurely. so I stick with Olfa which has never caused me problems, other than the horrible smell when they are brand new. That goes away after a few days/weeks.
lol, she may watch a lot of the Golden Girls and was thinking of St. Olaf
I love it when I slip like that!
