Sounds like what my oldest sister dealt with. Several years after menopause she started bleeding again, and had the same problem and the Dr said the hysterectomy was the best solution. That was a few years ago and for the first time in 50 years, she's been able to lose weight and is looking very good and says she feels better than she has in ages. She is almost to retirement age.
