bleed on quilt--how to get out?
I got stabbed by a corsage pin while quilting and thought I'd stopped the bleeding before it got on the quilt, but apparently I got some on a ruler and it got on the quilt. How do I get this out? its on while fabric (obvious as all sin)

Rinse with cold water until it is out. You can also rub it at the same time, either by folding and rubbing the fabric against itself, or with a soft nail brush, etc. Until the blood is out avoid any soap or heat like hot water.

Not an old wive's tale..when I did alterations, I kept tissues and muslin scraps near because most often the client would rub a hand against my pins. Sometimes it was me! The person that bled can spit on a tissue or muslin and rub his/her own blood away. It is the DNA match in the blood that breaks it down and dissolves away.

I would do the cold water thing, and maybe some peroxide on a qtip just on the blood. Then rinse with water. I have had blood on my uniforms many times and used the peroxide. Never tried the spit because it was never my blood.Ugh! Does the spit work on dried blood?
