I love the block and plan on making it but I don't have those colors and can't go buy them. If the color choices were more open I could handle it.

I have cut out one block but need to go to the dentist and mayber will sew and scan by tomorrow. The purpose of this "exercise" is to see how, by keeping the colors at a minimum, but using the same block and switching them around - how many different looks we can get. If ya'll enjoy it, maybe we could do one every 2 weeks - with a BASIC design and a selection of not more than 5 color choices, whatcha think? - Happy sewing!

I would love to go for for it but I have to finish a special quilt for my stepson who is being called back to the Middle East. The first time he served in Iraq and we were so blessed that he came back without a scratch. He's been over here as a Drill Sgt. in MO for three years (I think); and they just moved him and the whole family (wife, two daughters, one son) to LA (they never quite get you to your home state) with notice that he would be shipping out to Afghanistan in August. He's heard it could be as late as late September, but I don't want to take any chances. I want to have the quilt done and ready for him in early August - just in case they decide to go early. That's the first thing he's asked me to do for him and that's the least I can do for someone who's defending my liberty! He and his wife are so sweet and I just love my three new grandchildren. My husband and I have only been together for three years, so I gained two more sons and a daughter, three granddaughters, and one more grandson. It's been great fun and Ben is the absolute love of my life!
Sorry I got off the subject! I also have to finish my 174 Siggy blocks and get them mailed off by July 15th. I keep getting sick and having to put them away for a day or two. Could you perhaps give us another week on this challenge? This block looks mighty interesting!

I'm not up to the challenge right at the moment, but I'd like to thank the OP for the link to another lovely site.
Oh dear!! What is a girl to do? So many choices - so little stitching time. I have to work to pay for the fabric, and then the family think that I should spend valuable stitching time, feeding, cleaning, hunting and gathering for them.....hmmmmm dilemma.

Thank you in any case, for contributing to my newest addiction.

I hate to see a challenge go not accepted, so I went into my scraps box and came up with this. It took me about 40 minutes, including the time spent selecting the colors. Not trimmed.

Holy Cow, Maride! I got the pattern printed out, but that's it! I was going to do it tomorrow, but I might have to get it done today. Good job - and you are an inspiration!
