I WOULD REQUEST A REFUND SINCE THEY DID NOT TELL

YOU OF THE PROBLEM AND OFFER TO LET YOU SELECT YOUR

OWN FABRIC. THEY SHOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU AN OPTION!!!

I signed up for a sampler BOM at a LQS . Half way through the project she started substituting muslin for the beige tone on tone. She said it was "quilt shop quality muslin " so people had no right to complain. I thought it was a garbage thing to do. I've not done one since.

That is just an example of why I no longer buy kits. Some stores actually short cut you on the fabric, which means that if you make a mistake... tough cookies. Unfortunately, one dishonest shop will ruin things for everyone.

You should of been told at the beginning. Check to see if it says anywhere that they can change or substitute the fabric? If not go back in there and get your money back for false advertising. Not sure that I would go back after that.

You are not being unreasonable. If they aren't willing to "make it right," I am afraid I would have to let them know that I wasn't willing to participate in any more of their BOM programs. I can't believe that they would substitute fabric without letting you know before they did it. Poor planning on someone's part. :-(

I would demand my money back, at least for the material that was changed and you make the choice. If not, it would be a long time before I bought something from them.

I don't think you are being unreasonable, you should ask the owner to let you pick out the fabric in it's place. I agree, they should have told you about the shortage......it's their problem and they should fix it :hunf:
