Some of the best muscle cars came out of the 60's.
There are lots of fabric out now that depicts the 60's. All the bright colors, flowers, etc. very easy to find. Don't know how manly though.

I wore some stuff that was influenced by the "hippie" style. Pier One was my favorite store for beads, belts and candles. Our choir went on tour and had a free day in San Franciso. I wanted to check out the Haight-Ashbury area, but my group didn't want to go.
A protest sign with "Make love, not war" on it, but not sure if you would want that on a teens quilt. Guru/Dashiki shirts.

Mishnjim, that is too cool! I love it! I may copy a block or two, if that's ok!
I called my son in to look at it, and he wants it! LOL! I also emailed it to my Mother in Law, she loves Bugs, and she wants to know where you got the border material.

I was such a hippie! Long straight hair - headband - vest(fur)- VW van or bug - flip flops - bell bottoms with "flower power" written on them - peace sign emblem - and peace sign with hand (like victory) music notes - lava lamp - lots of pillows in that van. Black lights - incense -potted plants - macrame. You have some good ideas. Hope you post pictures when you're finished. P.S. Real Hippies don't surf.
