I just hate to give up on it.... It was a B-day gift and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

Now I just may be in for some real trouble "myself". I just ordered this frame as a matter of fact it should be here today. The caster "trick" can be done by hubby (thanks for that tip).I didn't research be4 buying on this board as I thought I spend money more "foolish" usually on something else that I would not be out that much if I don't like it. I will let you know how it "works" for me....:)

maybe you need a longer pvc?... I had a Flynn system before, I had pvc pipes longer than the frame was wide; that seemed to help.I really liked it, it does take a little practice, so keep at it.

Anyone want to sell a Flynn frame?

I saw John at the show in Longmont and really want to give it a try but based on all the talk here don't really want to pay full price.

He really makes it look simple on the video. I haven't given up yet (keep telling myself that)

I have one that I have never opened. Got it in March at the quilt show, but before I could use it, got a great buy on a Juki on a frame. If I could figure out how to ship it I would be happy to sell it for a little less than I paid.

I did try it out at the quilt show and once I got the hang of moving the frame and holding it by the front rail correctly (can't emember now if it was over hand or underhand) I thought it worked well. One of the folks that used to be on the board used it extensively and loved it. Don't see her on the board anymore. Oh here is the thread that contains her info on her use of the frame. Her name is kluedesigns and her first post is about 2/3 way down page. http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-44053-1.htm

I've seen John Flynn using it at a quilt show and he has no problem and quilts beautifully. If he can get good by practicing, surely a WOMAN CAN!!! I think we just get too impatient - we want to do it all beautifully right from the get-go. I'm guilty of this myself and with more than one thing - LOL. Practice practice practice.
