Beautiful fabrics!! Purple is my favorite. I'm thinking the white for the center squares.

I would think and low-loft batting would be fine. I use Warm and Natural.

Thanks to everyone for the helpful advice!

Maggiemay, your runner is beautiful! :)

The instructions did look a little bit confusing to me. Maybe it's just the way she worded it. I'll probably start the project tonight or tomorrow morning so I'll let you know how it goes!

Once again, thanks. This board is so awesome and I'm pretty sure I'd be lost without you guys.

I have made several from this pattern and I found it to be easy also. Once you make one it will make sense.

I have made some of these too...the directions were confusing to me the first time around but once you get it, it goes very fast! A nice simple pattern with beautiful results. Love your fabrics..purples are my favorite.

I do the same as a regular square corner where I stop 1/4" before the corner then fold up, then down ( I'm sure there is a name for it...) but when I do the folds I just fold & follow the angle of the runner & it comes out ok.

Pretty colors. I would suggest searching on GOOGLE for Braid quilts images. You should see them both with a dark center and a light center and then decide which way you like better.

That is going to be just beautiful. I love your fabric. Make sure and post a pic when you are done.

I have this pattern also and have made a couple, they were quite easy to do. Your colors will be really pretty on this one.

Here are a couple of pictures of one I did from that same pattern. I DID make sure that I had enough fabric beyond the center points that I didn't lose them when I did the binding, which is quite narrow.

MaggieMay, yours is very beautiful. I like it with extra borders!

Awww, yours is absolutely beautiful! :) I love the quilting you did in the center. I had considered appliqueing something there, but after hearing a few suggestions from the board and seeing yours - I think I'll just find a nice larger pattern to quilt there. In case you missed it, here's what I have so far:
