I feel your pain, in 2007 I broke my right shoulder in 2 places, broke the collarbone and tore the rotator cuff. I learned to write left handed so I could do crossword puzzles. My friends cut a whole shoe box worth of squares for me so I could sew when I was able to sit at the machine. Here's a link to the picture of the finished quilt.

Do what your doctor says and you'll be healed soon enough. Enjoy your pain meds.

Been there done that too. So I know what you are going through. Just hang in there. It will get better. Only thing is, if the Dr. tries to tell you that you will never get full movement back in your shoulder, don't except that. I was told that & I just prayed every day & trusted my Lords promise of total healing. My shoulder is perfect now with no limitations at all. once I started the therapy, I used my sewing to help with that. So hang in there girlfriend. It will get better. You have a lot of back up here on this board

I have a quilt 1/2 way pieced for my son and was hoping to have it finished the weekend I was scheduled to return home from diving. I guess the Lord had different plans for me... I"m learning how to be a Lefty which is quite the task.. it is amazing how much we take our limbs for granted until you loose the use of one temporarily... Im hoping in 2 more weeks if the bone continues to heal the way it is, I will be going to physio and can get the sewing motion going again in the arm....
Just wanted to say hey... and appologize for staying away for so long.... just miss quilting.. I had to hire someone to but on the edging of the bargello quilt... It should be back soon and I will post pics of it completed. .the quilter did an amazing job qulting it!! I can't wait to get it back so I can take pics before I donate to pride for their raffle!! I should have it back by the end of the week and post the pics of the gorgeous quilting job she did!

I hope you have a speedy recovery. I can feel your pain.I had rottor cuff surgery in January and was unable to use my right arm for weeks. It is really hard to do things lefthanded when you are very right handed. Eventually I could lift my right hand up on to the sewing machine and carefully use it to guide the fabric using mostly my left hand. Good luck.
