A small group of quilters get together once a week to "quilt". One of the ladies had purchased the 6000i and raved about it. In turn, 3 of us have gotten one and we all LOVE it. lightweight and easy to transport. I have a heavy BabyLock at home and really like sewing on the little Brothers much better. It has proven to be well worth the money for it. Love my Little Brothers.

Do you have problems with the needle moving to the left when you turn off the machine?

Hi namom5,

I have broken couple of needles when I turn off the machine, needle move to the left. I "MUST" remember ot move it to the middle.

I have this machine also, was to be a back up but I have been using it for everything. It has alot of decorator stitches including blanket stitch for machine applique. I think its a nice machine for the price.

It took 3 years, 100 denim quilts, 3 Project Linus Quilts and 3 Crazy Quilts, but I finally killed my Brother CS6000i. (!!!)

I took it to a local Sew/Vac shop guy who said " I wouldn't touch it."
Looked on line for a Brother Repair shop, who was happy to work on it, but at $120. plus parts, if needed, I said Thanks but No Thanks. The problem it is that when sewing all those denim quilts, I allowed the quilts to "pull" the needle to the left, thus mis-aligning the mechanism.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Brother CS6000i for normal sewing. It only weighs 13 pounds, so GO FOR IT!

I have 2 of the Brother Sewing machines. They are easy to use and transport. Walking foot is easy to put on and works very well. I have purchased two of them from Costco, one for me and one for my daughter. Costco always has a nice machine every fall/winter for a reasonable price that is of good quality. Very happy with the machines.
