copycat

A friend of mine suggested looking at Harbor Freight ....for their heavy duty rolling cases that hold tools and equipment. I am not sure if there is a 20" long tote.

I have 3 of those harbor freight totes. 2 for sewing machines and one for my Go! Big. I do add padding around the machine after it is loaded in the tote. I know it isn't as protected as a $300 Tuto, but it works for me. Oh, I took my machine into the store with me to make sure it would fit when I bought my first one.

Today, an incredible thing happened.

I went to a show with a friend and we took our horses. She trundled out this big case with all her show accessories in it....I took one look at it...A Tutto. I asked her where the heck she had gotten this case from? She told me that her boss had been cleaning out her Mother in laws house and was throwing it out....There was another one, slightly smaller...Did I want it?
What? Do I want a Tutto case...Well, let me think...YES! Tried my machine when I got home and it is a perfect fit. Not a mark on it.
How's that for right place at the right time, for both of us?

QuitE, I never used to put my machine in a case either and it worked for a while. Eventually, a rough road and tight curve proved too much and the timing went out. Had to take my Baby to the sewing machine hospital. Decided that a case would be the better way to go - heavy or not.

I use a folding wheeled trolley similar to the one that Barb in Louisiana posted, and made a bag for my machine. I use Velcro to hold it on to the trolley. What I like about this is that the larger wheels work well in gravel or over rough surfaces, and if it's rainy/snowy/muddy I can detach the wheeled part and put it on the floor while belting my machine into a seat.
I couldn't find a hard sided case at the time I needed a travel case so I made the bag. I needed 24 inches wide x 9 inches deep x 13 inches high. I still haven't found a rigid case the right dimensions.
