Good luck! I use chalk or soap slivers on dark fabric, and a Sewline pencil in green or yellow for light fabrics.

I have also used soap slivers. Will look into newline pencils.

I have always used Crayola Washable Markers for marking my quilts. I trace around the stencils. I have never had any issues with the marks washing out, even after letting them sit for weeks at a time. They work great and I just love them, seeing as how I cannot draw a straight line free hand. LOL

I think I still have the Pounce Chalk items...
I never used them, really...
