Christmas Tree Skirt Requirement...am I reading this right?

It also lists two pics for two different sizes, i found the paper foundation pieces on the first pic and the end, I love this tree skirt in the 60" size, will have to make it and see. Thank you for sharing

Two patterns - which are you making?

I find two patterns - the first that comes up as "Frosted Trees" is just 48" diameter and my 'math' comes up with a bit more than 9 yards. The other one, also called "Frosted Trees" that is 60" diameter, I get just over 13 yards when I add the figures! Both are paper pieced and the foundations are at the end of the patterns. Which one are you making? I like the first one best but I'm not sure if the same size trees would work in a larger diameter.

There are two patterns!
The one I like is the Santa's Little Helper one at 60" and it seems to come out to over 8 yards, plus the 3 5/8 for backing.

Great tree skirt. It must be a combination of paper piecing all those triangles that uses up fabric. I may have to go scrappy with my Christmas fabrics. Thanks for pointing this one out.

It Is a cute pattern and 8 yards seems like a lot to me too. Would love to see what you come up with.

All the angles take the fabric. You will have lots of scraps. What fun this looks like. I may give this one a try.

I agree with crafterbarbara, paper piecing takes more fabric to start with although you will usually have a lot of scraps and cutting curves and angles also takes additional fabric. Both patterns are very cute but I like the contrast better in the 48" one...but that would come down to fabric choices for either.

I just looked at this again. The green that says 3 7/8 looks like the 3 does not belong. No space between it and the 7/8. I wonder if that part was just a typo

It is probably a close estimate on the fabrics. Look at the smaller version for comparison. The smaller tree skirt takes over 6 yards for fabrics A-J. Plus another 2.5 yards of fabric K. Quite a bit.
